Fibromyalgia is a disorder caused by a widespread of musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. It is believed that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensation by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals. Symptoms sometimes start after a physical trauma, surgery, infection or any type of significant psychological stress. Women are much more likely to develop fibromyalgia than men. People having fibromyalgia also have tension headaches, temporomandibular joint disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression. There is no cure for fibromyalgia but having exercises, relaxation and stress-reduction measures can help feel better.
